Important Information
Please read before signing your consent forms.
If you have any of the following, then a Swedish body massage is not suitable for you. These include:
Contagious skin infections such as ringworm or impetigo.
Cancer and cancer treatments – Once you have finished treatment you can get a release note from your GP to allow for treatment.
Fever – This could signal an infection. Massage increases circulation that may in turn increase the severity of the fever and infection.
Acute inflammation or infection.
Pregnancy – This is due to having to lay flat for a long period of time and only therapists trained in pregnancy massage should do this.
Blood clots – Massage can loosen blood clots which could migrate to the lungs, heart or brain.
High blood pressure – Massage increases the blood flow which can cause more issues if your blood pressure is already high or uncontrolled.
Kidney/liver conditions.
If you are also taking certain medications such as the following, then massage will also not be suitable:
Blood thinners such as warfarin and heparin – this is because blood thinners increase the risk of bruising and internal bleeding.
Painkillers or muscle relaxants – this is because painkillers can alter your pain sensitivity which could result in too much pressure being applied, causing bruising.
Antibiotics or other medications that can affect the immune system – massage increases circulation, so potentially spreading infection. It can also reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotics.
Can I have the Japanese headspa with extensions?
No, having extensions of any kind does not allow full access to the scalp, which is the main priority during a headspa treatment.
What should I wear to Nuvana Touch for my treatment?
Please wear something you are comfortable in. If you are having a headspa treatment it is recommended to wear a strap-type top to allow for easy access to massage the neck and shoulders.
If you are having a massage treatment, a towel wrap will be provided for your privacy.
It is advised to take off any jewellery before you come for your treatment.
Are there toilets on site?
No, there are no toilet facilities available.
Where are you located?
I am based in London Colney, however the full address will be given at time of booking confirmation.
How do I pay for my treatment?
Payments can be made by bank transfer.
Will a headspa affect my hair colour or keratin treatments?
Whilst all ingredients used in a headspa are considered generally safe, the clarifying or detoxing process could lift the colour from your hair or affect the keratin treatment. It is advised to wait at least a week after a hair colour appointment or keratin treatment before you have a headspa treatment and vice versa.
How do I book?
You can book by messaging me on WhatsApp, on the Nuvana Touch social media page on Instagram, or by email. All contact details can be found on the main website page and on the Nuvana Touch Instagram page.
